Nagaland is luxuriously green and inhabited by tribes who have fiercely protected their tradition, culture and identity. Colourful costumes complete with clan motifs and headdress, war paint once in a while, lyrical singsong dialects and traditional villages are just some of the intriguing facades of the people of Nagaland.
 
It is one of the 13 'Hot Spots’ of the world that enjoy both sub-tropical and sub-alpine climate. The state’s average rainfall is between 180 cm and 250 cm. In summer the maximum temperature is 31° C and the minimum temperature is 16° C. The maximum temperature in winter is 24° C and minimum temperature falls to 4° C.
